Diversify our Economy

Why we need it:

It’s no secret that new businesses help create more tax revenue. Those very same tax dollars are what fix infrastructure, build centers, allow the city to offer incentives, and give us a sense of pride for the city we call home. District 6 is known for being a spot to enjoy international foods, but we’re not highlighted for much else. This is a huge missed opportunity since the drive to create new business seems stronger in our district than in almost any other part of Tulsa.

The recently approved incubator is proof that the community wants more. Allowing spaces where a community can create has always had positive results. Citizens will care more about their district if new opportunities are plentiful and business is booming. Roads will be cared for, schools will get closer to the proper funding they need from taxes, and crime will decrease. Investing in people's dreams to be a part of the marketplace has turned out good results time and time again. I want us to invest in each other and help diversify our economy by lifting up the countless small businesses that exist in our neighborhoods.

I aim to help foster economic growth in District 6 by working with The Port of Catoosa to attract new businesses and support local entrepreneurs with incentives that would normally go to large out-of-state corporations.

  • Attracting New Businesses: Creating incentives for businesses to set up in District 6, including tax breaks and streamlined permit processes.

  • Support for Small Businesses: Offering grants and low-interest loans to local entrepreneurs to stimulate growth.
