Public Safety

My public safety policy is rooted in the belief that every resident of District 6 deserves to live in a secure and supportive environment. My approach to public safety emphasizes the importance of community policing, where law enforcement officers build strong, positive relationships with the neighborhoods they serve. By fostering trust and open communication between the police and the community, Uriah aims to create a safer, more cooperative atmosphere. I'll advocate for comprehensive crisis response strategies that include mental health professionals and social workers, ensuring that all aspects of public safety, from crime prevention to emergency response, are handled with expertise and compassion.

In addition to supporting traditional law enforcement, my public safety policy includes proactive community-based initiatives designed to engage youth and prevent crime. I plan to help implement programs that provide educational and recreational opportunities, steering young people away from crime and towards positive contributions to society. My experiences working with international students during the COVID-19 pandemic have shaped his understanding of the importance of inclusive and effective public safety measures. By addressing the root causes of crime and investing in community resources, I'm committed to building a District 6 where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered.
